BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for golfers, while also overseeing the maintenance of the golf course's facilities and operations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service
Greeting Members and Guests:
- Provide a friendly welcome to golfers arriving at the course.
- Answer questions about the course, facilities, and policies.
Assistance with Equipment:
- Help golfers with loading and unloading golf bags.
- Clean clubs before and after play as a courtesy service.
Tee Time Management:
- Confirm tee times and ensure players start on time.
- Cart and Equipment Maintenance
Cart Preparation:
- Ensure golf carts are clean, charged, and stocked with necessary items.
Cart Maintenance:
- Perform routine checks for damage or mechanical issues and report problems.
- Maintain proper storage and cleanliness of the cart barn.
Rental Equipment Management:
- Inspect and prepare rental equipment, such as clubs and pull carts, for players.
Course Monitoring
Pace of Play:
- Monitor the course to ensure players maintain appropriate pace of play.
- Politely address slow play or other issues to avoid delays.
Course Etiquette:
- Enforce golf course rules and regulations in a professional manner.
Operational Support
Event Assistance:
- Set up and break down for tournaments or special events, including signage, cart staging, and event-specific items.
Range Maintenance:
- Pick up and clean range balls.
- Maintain an organized and tidy driving range, ensuring balls and equipment are readily available.
Course and Facility Maintenance
General Cleanup:
- Keep course areas, including tee boxes, greens, and cart paths, clean and free of debris.
Trash and Recycling:
- Empty trash and recycling bins around the course and clubhouse.
Weather Preparedness:
- Assist in preparing the course for inclement weather, including moving carts and securing equipment.
- Safety and Emergency Duties
Emergency Response:
- Assist with first aid or respond to emergencies as needed.
- Report incidents or hazards to management promptly.
Safety Checks:
- Conduct safety inspections of carts and equipment.
- Communication and Teamwork
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other golf course staff, such as maintenance crews and Golf Shop employees, to ensure smooth operations.
Reporting Issues:
- Notify supervisors of equipment problems, guest concerns, or course maintenance needs.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with Member Services:
- Help with locker room services or other guest amenities as required.
Merchandising Support:
- Occasionally assist in the Golf Shop with stocking or light sales duties.
- Skills and Attributes for Success
To excel in this role, a Golf Course Attendant needs:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, polite, and respectful demeanor.
- Physical stamina for tasks like cleaning, ability to lift up to 20 pounds, and prolonged standing.
- Attention to detail for maintaining carts and equipment.
- A positive, proactive attitude to assist with various responsibilities.
- Familiarity with golf is preferred.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Available evenings and weekends.
- Works well in a team environment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Wascana Country Club, founded in 1911 is the only private golf club in Regina and for over 100 years has ensured optimal playing conditions and aesthetics for its diverse membership. The greenskeeper role is essential in providing our membership with an enjoyable and professional playing experience while preserving the overall quality and beauty of the golf course and maintaining its reputation as one of the premier private clubs in Western Canada. These duties involve but are not limited to:
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ground Maintenance:
- Mowing fairways, greens, and rough areas using specialized equipment.
- Trimming and edging around trees, bunkers, and other course features.
- Aerating and fertilizing the turf to promote healthy grass growth.
- Raking and maintaining sand bunkers.
Irrigation System Maintenance:
- Watering specific areas manually during dry conditions.
Course Setup:
- Changing hole placements and tee markers.
- Setting up and maintaining hazard markers, signage, and flags.
Plant and Landscape Care:
- Planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
- Removing debris, fallen branches, and leaves.
Equipment Use and Maintenance:
- Operating machinery such as mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles safely.
- Cleaning of equipment.
General Maintenance:
- Filling divots and repairing damaged turf.
- Assisting with pest and weed control measures.
- Maintaining pathways and cart routes.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhering to health and safety standards while using equipment and handling chemicals.
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional Duties:
- Assisting with seasonal tasks such as snow removal or winterizing the course.
- Supporting special events or tournaments by preparing the course as needed.
- Reporting course damage or unusual conditions to supervisors.
Skills and Attributes
- Physical fitness and stamina for outdoor, physically demanding work.
- Attention to detail to ensure the course remains well-maintained.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
